The first option is the Texas A and M University–Corpus Christi, a state university initially founded as a Baptist university in 1947. It is first named as the University of Corpus Christi until the Baptist General Convention of Texas turned it over to the state in 1973 and became a component of the Texas A&M University system, one of the largest school system of higher education in the United States. Del Mar offers a variety of Associate degrees in the Arts, Sciences, and Applied Sciences, as well as numerous specialized programs and online courses.
