Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is a rich subtropical city in the southern coast of Texas. The city derived its name from a Roman Catholic Feast Day which was celebrated on the same day the city was discovered by the Spanish explorer Alonzo Alvarez de Pineda. Translated in English, Corpus Christi is a Latin phrase which literally means "Body of Christ." The city was named in honor of the body of Christ that suffered in the cross in order to save mankind. With such grand name, the city seems to deserve being the seat city of the Nueces County of Texas.

Today there are almost 300,000 people residing in Corpus Christi. Because of this it ranks as the eight largest state in the whole of Texas in terms of population. This is no wonder, because the people and the environment of Corpus Christi make it an attractive and favorable place to live in.

Lying near the bay, the city enjoys a subtropical climate gifted with bright sunshines, luxurious greenery, lively flora and tranquil blue waters. The city too is a melting pot of culture. There is a wide diversity of ethnicities, communities, groups, and sub-cultures here as brought by a hundred of explorations, wars, truces, politics, exodus, and other significant events in the very long history of Texas and the United States of America.
